Le style n'est pas une taille mais une attitude

CUIVRE

I’m back from my vacation (yeepee), let’s begin the week with a shiny outfit.

There’s a big copper trend in decoration right now, but also in accessorizing, like with jewels or shoes.

When I saw this skirt, I immediately fell for it.

I matched it with a little short peach sweater to completely soften the metallic look of the skirt. This association allows me to wear this skirt during the day.

Finally, for a more seasonal look, I chose to wear it with my black trench coat.

The whole outfit comes from Dorothy Perkins and, in partnership with the brand, let me offer you an exclusive discount code for my readers only : 25% off and free delivery with the code LBDBBXDP25

Use it here before October 26.

Enjoy your shopping !

CITRONNELLE

I’ve slowed down the pace but it’s for a good cause since I’m off to enjoy a few days in the sun starting tomorrow. You can still follow me on my Instagram account here.

Meanwhile, let me share with you an outfit I wore last week-end with my new autumnal stuff. And beware, you’ll get a nice surprise at the end of the post !

Boden, this british brand you’re starting to get familiar with on the blog, alaways creates wonders for the fall/winter season. A little reminder if you don’t know this brand : it offers clothing for men, women and children from size 4 to 20. They always have beautiful fabrics, colors, patterns, and a really superior quality. Sizing wise, it’s perfect, the 20 is a real 20.

Incidentally, I would really like this brand to launch a PlusSize collection because they have the abilities to do it, the savoir faire, and I’m sure it would be a big hit ! Boden, if you’re reading me… (nudge nudge, wink wink)

Before we get to the surprise, let’s talk about my socks. I have the feeling they’re going to divide the ecstatic crowd ! I have a new addiction, socks in stilettos. You either like it or you don’t, and I completely get that.

But for me, it was a true revelation. I spent years envying this style and I finally took the leap, thanks to THE right pair of socks. One often underestimates the importance of the right pair of socks, ha ha don’t laugh, it’s true.

Will you get used to it ? OR better yet, also take the leap ?

To sweeten the socks pill for you resistants, Boden has decided to spoil you since this week on the blog you can try and win 1 Boden outfit !

It’s super easy to participate, just write the names of your favorite pieces in a commentary down below (don’t put the link down because it gets into spams too easily). Make your choice here.

You have until Monday the 20th of October to try your luck (1 outfit or an equivalent gift certificate if the outfit is already sold out). Don’t forget to leave a valid e-mail address that you often check, too many winning e-mails remain unanswered.

Good luck to all of you !

TORINESE GETAWAY

Hebergeur d'image

I took a few days off to spend a little time in a country that I love very much : Italy.

The weather is still very mild here in the Piedmont, no need to wear a coat or tights.

Today, I’m wearing a “cage effect” skirt I’ve already presented to you on the blog last summer. And a top that looks more like a bomber jacket. I found it last winter on Asos’ mega sales.

Fishnet derby shoes at my feet, they’re quite atypical. I like their style a lot and I especially like this feeling of still be wearing open shoes.

Around my neck, a pretty necklace from the designer Bibiana. I will talk to you about her again soon because you’ll soon be able to win a piece of jewelry from her new collection.

I’m off to enjoy a beautiful day in Turin !

HALLOWEEN AT DISNEYLAND PARIS

Okay, today’s post has nothing to do with fashion, but sometimes it’s nice to take a break, especially when that break involves falling back into childhood by going to Mickey’s !

My baby, well, my little boy is 21 months old and I was dying to take him to Disneyland. I didn’t really know how he was going to react and I think that my “experience” could interest you. On top of that, Disneyland has put up its Halloween decorations, which gave an even sweeter taste to our visit (it will last until the 7th of November).

I chose to spend only half of the day in the park, I knew that Lino was going to tire himself out quickly, with all the appeal, the crowd, the noise, the excitement. We got there at 2PM, which doesn’t change anything to the cover charge, I paid full price, that is €73 for 1 park. It’s free for kids until age 7.

As soon as we arrived, we got into the Halloween mood with all the little ghosts, the little pumpkins, and all the Disney characters who wore their costumes to give a sweet scare as they say. Lino was quite impressed by the ghost noises but especially by the characters whom he saw for real for the first time. I’ve rarely seen my little kitten be speechless but in this case it was pretty funny.

We watched the Halloween parade at 2:30PM, it’s shorter than the big parade but just as magical and not at all scary, Lino enjoyed it very much.

To avoid scaring him too much and especially to avoid the crowd rushing up to the Disney characters, I took Lino to Fantasyland where he had a lot of fun.

Sweeter, calmer, this area of the park is really adapted to little ones. I had not visited it properly yet for that matter, because I had always been to Disneyland with older children, my nephew or my godson.

I went with my son on many attractions that were really adapted, like :

  • Lancelot’s Carousel

  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant

  • Alice’s Curious Labyrinth

  • Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups

  • Storybook Land Canal Boats

  • Casey Jr. Circus Train

When you enter the park, it’s good to know that you can also rent a stroller if you’re afraid to leave yours in front of the attractions in the provided spaces. I personally didn’t, I had my YoYo with me and I had no problem. I was there during the week, there wasn’t a big crowd, maybe this can influence your choice.

There are several provided spots in the park to change your baby or warm up a bottle for example, it’s the american way, family friendly.

At the end of the day, around 5:30PM, we watched the second parade, the big parade, it was kind of the cherry on top of the sundae to end this beautiful day. Lino had a chance to recognize a few beloved characters, Mickey Mouse of course, Winnie the Pooh and his friends or Mr. Potato Head. He doesn’t know much about the Disney Universe yet, it should be said that I don’t bombard him with these films. We’ll see in a few years.

After a little bit of shopping on Main Street to buy a few souvenirs, including the famous Mickey balloon on which he had been drooling with envy all day. Maybe I should have bought it right when we entered the park, thus avoiding a few snatch-and-grab thefts.

When we got out of the park and right before Lino’s dinner time, we stopped at a diner near by, Annette’s. A retro, american style, burgers and all that. €14,80 for a children’s menu… But it allowed us to leave with the sunset, a beautiful view on the park.

There you go, I hope my experience has helped you if you were hesitating, and I especially hope I will have make you want to go and (re)visit Disneyland Paris. With me, the magic works every time, I’m 10 years-old there and I have so much fun.

Seeing stars in the eyes of my son that day was an additional gift, we’ll be back for sure !

BRONZE

Two outfis with sneakers in one week, OMG ! What is happening to me ?

That’s the kind of outfit I wear a lot during the week, when I’m picking my son up from daycare for example, then we go to the park.

I wear running shoes to be able to run after him !!

I haven’t been able to wrap my mind around the idea of opaque tights yet, so I manage to go out with bare legs under my dresses, but I balance things with a coat.

Today, I’m wearing a beautiful piece I found at COS : woollen cloth, raw seam, light gray, perfect !

An Issey Miyake-like pleated dress, slightly longer in the back, with short sleeves. I already found a way to wear it when it’ll be colder, with a blouse under it. I promise I’ll show you.

What about you ? Tights or no tights ?

Have a good day !

CURRY

Let’s continue today with an outfit that’s still in autumnal shades but very light so it goes with our super mild weather.

The Anna Poe dress is absolutely perfect with its curry color. I particularly like the fake belt effect, it’s almost shaped like a V on the belly. Very well thought, it’s impressive.

Always a touch of khaki, you’re gonna have to get used to it. Khaki is beautiful !!

And of course, as usual, a pair of sunglasses on my nose. I’m like a little vampire, one little sunbeam and I’m blind. But then again, when they’re that pretty, they’re a real and important accessory to my outfit.

Let’s enjoy the sun a little bit more while we say bye bye to September, and let’s hope that October won’t be too hard on us.

METALLIC

A little OOTD I shot on Saturday afternoon at sunset. My God, how lovely was this last week of September.

How to switch to autumnal outfits really softly : I used a color you’ll see a lot this year, khaki.

Many of you loved my metallized Zara skirt, it’s not available anymore but I found you a similar skirt here and it’s available in every sizes ! Yeepee !

My little jersey comes from Marina Rinaldi’s last winter collection. My trick to find beautiful pieces at soft prices : if you’re in Italy, the brand is 30% cheaper there, and if you happen to be there during big sales, it gets significantly more affordable. And if you don’t get the chance to go to Italy, Marina Rinaldi’s stores in France have sales just like any other brand. There’s no window display of them for luxury brands but you just have to ask the store where are their discount products when the time comes.

There you go, you now know everything. I leave you with a little OOTD featuring my Stan Smith shoes : I wear them all the time and with absolutely anything !

Have a good Monday !

FLAMBOYANT

Phew, I’m keeping such a fast pace on this blog that fall is already catching up with me while I still have a few summer outfits to share with you.

Quick flashback, well not that long ago, it was last week.

77°F in Paris, I stopped by the Chanel pop-up store for a manicure (I told you about it here) and I had lunch with my girlfriends. Does you a world of good.

Speaking of Chanel, did you know that the brand has a beauty, care and perfume e-shop ? I’m a huge Chanel addict and oh my God I didn’t even know ! A good way to go if you don’t want to miss limited editions, like the relaunching of the famous Vernis Rouges Chanel for instance.

I’m wearing the Rouge Flamboyant (“Blazing Red”) on my nails and I was very surprised to see it last 4 days ! Hats off to the manicurist at the Chanel Beauty Store !

Outfit wise, I slipped on an easy little dress, another gem I found on sale and that I didn’t have the time to wear yet.

You already know the rest. (And yes, I’m only wearing one earing, it’s a habit of mine these days).

See you tomorrow !

AUTOMNE

There it is. Fall made its eternal return.

Along with spring, it’s my favorite season because nature is more beautiful than ever. The colors, the lights, the wind… I really like to walk around in the forest or even in the city during that time of the year.

Today, an outfit to make a sweet transition towards this new season.

A metallized skirt, a sort of safari jacket tied over a laced camisole, and my new Monoprix hat.

New things gradually enter in my closet, like this watch.

You know my passion for watches, today I’m wearing an Invicta design, a man watch because I like big faces. It comes from the Swiss website Watch-my-watches.com, they deliver all around the world. And right now, for you dear readers, you can get 15% off your order if you use the code BBB14.

DAY & NIGHT PART 2

As promised, here’s the next part of my outfit from this morning with the “night version” of my dress.

So, as I was telling you this morning : I did not went home and I needed a fancier version of what I was wearing. I chose to carry simple accessories that don’t take much space in my bag.

Although this dress has a straight cut, I very well can mark the waist with a belt and thus shorten it by a few inches.

The dress has a different style with high heels but both styles are right for it.

There you go, I hope you enjoyed this first on the blog : 1 outfit, 2 possibilities.

To see the “day version” again, go here.

Have a good evening my dear readers !

ps : I updated my personal online shop there.
